Cased evaporator coils
The evaporator coil is the indoor part of a central AC or heat pump system that sits on your furnace. It absorbs heat from your home's air as the furnace blower moves air across it. We carry more than 30 cased coils from Goodman, Rheem, Frigidaire and GrandAire, from 1.5 to 5 tons.
When you need a new coil
- Replacing the outdoor unit: a new R-32 or R-454B condenser needs a coil built for the same refrigerant.
- Leaking or corroded coil: replacing the coil restores cooling without replacing the furnace.
- Upsizing or downsizing the AC: the coil's tonnage should match the outdoor unit.
Replacing the outdoor unit at the same time? A condenser with evaporator coil set is usually the better value.
Choosing the right coil
Refrigerant
Most coils here are for R-32 or R-454B, with limited R-410A stock for older systems.
Width
Match the coil cabinet to your furnace. Common widths are 14", 17.5", 21" and 24.5".
Position
Some coils are multi-position, while others fit a single airflow direction. Match the coil to your furnace.
Metering device
Each coil's product page lists its metering device (TXV). Confirm it's an approved match for your outdoor unit.
Shipping, returns and warranty
Manufacturer warranties apply when a licensed HVAC contractor installs the equipment.
