Getting the right part
- Capacitors: match the microfarad (MFD) rating and voltage printed on the old capacitor. Voltage can go up; MFD should match.
- Motors: match horsepower, RPM, voltage and rotation. The part number on the old motor is the surest match.
- Line sets: check the line sizes in the installation manual and measure the run between units.
- Thermostats: confirm the thermostat supports your system type: single-stage, two-stage, heat pump or communicating.
