The Goodman AMST24BU1300 is a 2-ton multi-position indoor air handler built for R-32 systems. It uses a 9-speed ECM blower, a factory-installed TXV, and an all-aluminum evaporator coil in a compact 17.5-inch-wide SmartFrame cabinet. Designed for upflow, downflow, or horizontal installation, it pairs with matching Goodman R-32 condensers and optional electric heat kits for year-round comfort in homes around 1,000–1,200 sq ft.
Features & Benefits
- 9-speed ECM blower motor delivers efficient, quieter airflow across a wide range of static pressures so rooms stay more even and energy use stays lower than with a standard PSC motor.
- Factory-installed TXV meters refrigerant accurately for both cooling and heat-pump operation, improving comfort and helping the outdoor unit reach its rated efficiency.
- All-aluminum 7 mm evaporator coil with coated fins transfers heat well, resists corrosion, and is optimized for R-32 so the system runs as designed.
- Multi-position SmartFrame cabinet installs upflow, downflow, or horizontal left/right, and the coil track lets the installer flip the coil quickly without extra parts.
- Low cabinet leakage (less than 2% at 1.0 in. w.c. per ASHRAE 193) keeps conditioned air in the duct system instead of leaking into the attic or closet.
- Tool-less filter access, foil-faced insulation, and a high-temperature plastic drain pan with primary and secondary connections make service faster and reduce condensation and rust.
- Electric heat ready — add 3–15 kW heat kits when you need backup or emergency heat without changing the air handler.
- A2L / R-32 compatible with factory leak-detection provisions so the unit meets current refrigerant requirements.
- AHRI certified and ETL listed, with a Goodman 10-year parts warranty when registered.
