Why Frigidaire is a homeowner favorite
The Frigidaire FSH4BE heat pump condenser cools in the summer, then reverses and heats in winter. It is not a cooling-only condenser. Runs on 208/230-volt single-phase power.
Most models use a single-stage scroll compressor. A 5-ton two-stage version is also available. The outdoor coil is all aluminum, so the unit weighs less, holds less refrigerant, and resists corrosion better than an older copper-tube coil. Side panels come off without lifting the top grille, which shortens a normal service call. It uses a regular 24-volt thermostat and ships with a factory refrigerant charge sized for a matched indoor unit and a 15-foot line set.
This condenser is a fit for mild and moderate winters. On colder nights, electric heat strips in the air handler, such as a B65B, cover what the heat pump cannot keep up with. It is not an inverter or communicating system.
