Why Rheem Air Conditioner Split Systems Are the Ultimate Choice for Year-Round Comfort
The RA14AY outdoor unit and RH2VY indoor air handler work together as a compact central air system for your home. They use a newer, lower-impact refrigerant that already meets the EPA’s 2025 environmental rules, so you don’t have to worry about a major equipment change later.
Outside, the condenser is built for everyday cooling and easier service. Extra room around the valves and a wide 15-inch service opening make it easier for a technician to work on the unit without tearing the cabinet apart. A swept-wing fan design also helps keep outdoor noise down.
A built-in refrigerant safety system watches for leaks. It works with a standard 24-volt thermostat and will automatically shut the outdoor unit off if it detects too much refrigerant in the air.
Inside, the RH2VY uses a variable-speed blower that can hold a steady airflow instead of blasting on and off. That helps the home stay more even in temperature, stay quieter, and pull more humidity out of the air. The all-aluminum coil holds up better against corrosion. The sturdy steel cabinet can be installed in several positions—upflow, downflow, or on its side—so it can fit in tighter spaces. It is also well sealed (under 2% air leakage) so cooled air stays in the ducts instead of leaking into the attic or closet. Optional electric heat kits can be added if you want backup warmth on cooler days, and they include built-in breakers and a service disconnect for safety.
Together, the two units give you efficient cooling in a smaller footprint, with quieter airflow, safety features, and service access designed to keep the system running with fewer headaches.
