Why Frigidaire is a homeowner favorite
The Frigidaire FSA4BE and B65B are a cooling-only split system in the Essentials line. The FSA4BE stays outside and rejects heat while the B65B air handler stays inside and pushes cooled air through the ducts. Matched systems are rated up to 14.3 SEER2, and both sides use R-454B, so the install already meets the 2025 refrigerant rules.
Outside, the FSA4BE uses a two-stage Copeland scroll compressor and a heavy-duty PSC fan motor. The condensing coil is all aluminum, which cuts weight and refrigerant charge and stands up better to corrosion than an older copper-tube coil. Side panels come off without lifting the top grille, so a technician can reach the compressor and controls without tearing the cabinet down. The unit ships pre-charged with R-454B, and a liquid-line filter drier is included for field installation. A high-pressure switch protects the system if pressures climb too high.
The B65B is the indoor match used on the published ratings. It is a multi-position air handler, so it can go upflow, downflow, or on its side in a closet or attic. The cabinet is insulated, the evaporator coil is aluminum, and filter access does not require tools. Electric heat strips can be added if the house still needs backup warmth from a separate heat source.
This system is built for homes that already have a furnace or electric heat and only need a new air conditioner. It uses a standard 24-volt thermostat, not a communicating control.
