GOODMAN 5 kW Electric Heat Kit with Circuit Breaker HKTPD051

The HKTPD051 is a Goodman 5 kW electric heat strip kit for packaged heat pumps and packaged air conditioners. It adds supplemental electric heat without replacing the outdoor unit, so the same package system can handle mild-weather heat-pump operation and still have backup or auxiliary heat when outdoor temperature drops.

The kit is built to slide into the factory heat-kit compartment and uses a plug-in wiring harness, so installation is faster and cleaner than a generic strip that has to be field-wired from scratch. A factory circuit breaker / service disconnect is included, giving on-unit overcurrent protection and a local disconnect point. Sequenced electric heat and thermal overload protection help keep the strip from overheating the cabinet or coil.

Use it when a packaged unit needs extra heat capacity, when heat-pump output is not enough in cold weather, or when replacing a failed OEM 5 kW kit on a compatible Goodman, Amana, or Daikin package unit.
